Wild Australia.

The Northern Territory may be the most wild and adventurous part of a wild and adventurous country. It's ridiculously hot, filled with creepy-crawlies and huge crocodiles, has vast, remote landscapes, and plenty of wildernesses.

I went, alone, as a backpacker one year as the wet season was ending. The land was scorching hot and mostly verdant green, and myself and a bunch of European backpackers spent our time camping and seeking out the best swimming holes, of which there are many.

Darwin is a neat city. It's a perfect size, but apparently is the fastest-growing city in Australia, and may eventually lose its charm. Go now to this magical savannah paradise.
