A much-loved European nation of beaches and culture.

Portugal may not be the biggest or most exciting nation in European. But it is admired by tourists and other nations. Small and wealthy, with warm, sunny beaches, it's easy to like Portugal.

We spent a week with a rental car, driving along the coast and up to Lisbon. As the country is expensive, we slept in the rental car each night. It's easy to find quiet places to park, at least in November.

All in all, Portugal is a good time for the traveller, with Lisbon being one of the nicest capitals in Europe.
