A pinnacle of travel.

Who doesn't want to go to Greece? As one of the warmest and sunniest places in Europe, it's easy to dream of Greek beaches with glassy Mediterranean water. Plus, there are huge mountains and mythical cities.

I spent six weeks crossing Greece by bicycle on my Global Cycling Tour, entering from Albania and finishing at the eastern end of the island of Crete. I had some of life's best moment there, camping outside in the warm breezes, summiting Mt. Olympus, and sleeping in tiny orthodox churches in olive groves. The people are wonderful and often speak several languages, including excellent English. Greece is a paradise for the traveller.
