Galapagos islands

November 2011

Wildlife on island paradises.

Most people seem to know the Galapagos Islands have a ton of unique wildlife, but overlook the fact that it can be budget-friendly, and is also an island paradise. I went solo for a week, stayed in the cheapest place I could find, and went all over Isla Santa Cruz by bicycle and foot.

The main beach on Santa Cruz is unrivaled, and is certainly a top beach in my opinion. I had plenty of encounters with the land iguanas, which also swim, and saw giant tortoises, finches, and plenty of other wildlife. The climate is fantastic, and I saw few tourists around, as for some reason they all stay on the expensive tour boats anchored offshore. I love the Galapagos.
