A small, friendly nation.

Denmark regularly ranks at the top of the world's best nations to live - in statistical terms of crime, life expectancy, employment, vacation time, salary, etc., it's hard to beat. I wanted to see how people live in this highly-regarded country, and visited in June 2011.

I wasn't disappointed. The country is awash with outdoor cafes, parks, bike lanes, and beautiful architecture. Danes are eminently friendly and helpful, and nearly always flawlessly bilingual.

It is, however, horribly expensive. I ended up walking long distances and stealth camping to save money.
