A Mediterranean dream.

Croatia gets a ton of tourists. In fact, it's consistently one of the most visited countries on earth as defined by the visitors-to-residents ratio. And for good reason: the country is awash with silver mountains, lush forest, tiny villages, and sparkling Mediterranean beaches.

I visited on my Global Cycling Tour for two weeks. Loved it. Rural areas have no foreigners, and most Croatians speak excellent English. If you go, June is probably the best month overall. At the very least, avoid the high tourism season of July-September.
