Small, fun and pretty.​​​​​

Belgium is a globally influential country occupying only a tiny space on the map. Here is the headquarters of the EU, countless transnational organizations, and a multicultural and multilingual well-educated population. In summer, at least, it's also extremely pretty.

 

We came to Belgium for Graspop Metal Meeting, which is one of the world's largest heavy metal festivals. Over a week, we headbanged with 100,000 crazy locals in some of the best times of my entire life. As an American, I can confirm that Europeans know how to have a good time! The concerts were incredible.

 

Beyond heavy metal, we spent a few days in tiny Brussels, and also visited some castles in the south. As everyone speaks fluent English (and other languages) I felt really well-accepted here. Compared with America, it doesn't have the problems of drugs and crime, and the society seems a lot more peaceful and safe. It would be all too easy to move here and stay for good! We love Belgium!
