A small nation unlike Europe.

Albania doesn't feel like Europe. At most, it has some Eastern European vibes, but the villages, the people, the language and the culture are all seemingly of a place much farther than barely 50 km from Italy.

I visited for two weeks on my Global Cycling Tour. It has some crazy beautiful beaches and mountains. I saw lots of trash and lots of dark BMWs. People were generally friendly, though there were more than a few that are scammers and con artists.

The country is also extremely hilly, and it was both a rewarding and challenging journey crossing Albania on a bicycle.
